Our honey is sourced from our own 400 beehives which we keep in the wild, pristine, remote forests and native bushlands of Western Australia. 

Our honey varies season to season, region to region. Our job at Elixir is to do nothing to damage the expression of nature in our honey nor damage the health benefits, taste, and texture of the honey.

Our honey is 100% natural and is never pasteurised, homogenised, micro-filtrated or blended. We harvest through single harvest, cold extraction, and cold pressed methods to ensure our honey is simply as nature intended it to be. 

The Elixir Story

Elixir Honey was established over 20 years ago, arising from a passion for beekeeping and producing the highest quality raw honey. 
Back in 2003 when Elixir Honey was established, the only honey generally available in supermarkets was pasteurised, homogenised, microfiltered and blended honeys. When honey is treated in such a commercial and industrialised way the colours, flavours and health benefits are damaged. As passionate beekeepers and real honey lovers, Elixir was created to offer consumers the opportunity to experience the uniqueness and delicious taste of real Western Australian honey.

Over the years, Elixir’s ethos is unchanged.  Honey for us is the elixir of life. In its natural form honey embodies the sun, air, soil and water through the flowers and plants that the bees forage. 

The French use the term ‘Terroir’ to encompass the essence of a place that is imparted into foods such as wine, cheese and olive oil. In a similar way, the forests, and bushlands our bees forage imparts a unique flavour and texture in our honey. Each place that we gather honey from produces honey that is distinct from anywhere else. We remain dedicated to bringing the wonderful flavours and textures of Western Australian honey to you.

Elixir Honey was previously based in the beautiful country town of Denmark in the deep Southwest of Western Australia but recently moved to the picturesque Piesse Brook in the Perth Hills. We remain to this day a family run business. 

Our honey is sustainably sourced from our bees, and we manage the production of wild honey from the hive to the jar to ensure the highest standard of honey for you. We value the good health of our customers, bees & our planet.
