Marri trees in forests near us Marri trees are also monsters - along with Jarrah and Karri. Eucalyptus calophylla. The bark is rough and all over the show (unlike jarrah whch has lines in the bark going straight up and down). Marri branches are all distorted, hanging down due to the very heavy nuts that the tree has (the amazing Land For Wildlife Woman Dorothy told me that) . Marri is the beekeepers buddy - it gives us a big harvest every year and it is 'active' honey - like the jarrah but mostly not as high in activity.
