On the radio this week, ABC talked about 'Biophilia'. Apparently we all love nature and thrive and recover better when exposed to it. . Apparently we all love nature and thrive and recover better when exposed to it. According to biologist E. O. Wilson, biophilia is 'an innate and genetically determined affinity of human beings with the natural world'. I think it's true. The bee keeping life style really has no shortage of proximity to nature. Having said that, today was a very cold day so nothing happened with the hives. I always think it's interesting that in winter when we are at our least busy for bee keeping, we are at our most busy for selling honey as everyone's putting honey on their porridge and crumpets. Such a balanced life. There are bee keeping jobs to be done however - mostly renovating the hives and getting new bee boxes ready for spring. That and building a bird net frame around the apricot tree...buds are out...spring's coming....
